There is no stopping Glover Teixeira right now. The 41-year old, dominated fellow Brazilian, Thiago Santos making him submit to a rear naked choke. The win saw Glover get his fifth consecutive victory in the light heavyweight division, and going by the look of things he might soon be vying for the title, as he was ranked number 3 prior to the fight. It is amazing how a man in his early 40s is still going from strength to strength beating fighters much younger than him.

Speaking at the post-match interview, Glover Teixeira believed that he deserves a shot at the title, asking UFC President Dana White to set him up in a title fight.

Glover Teixeira was quoted as saying, “Dana White. Come on, man. I’m old, you’re gonna give this shot to Adesanya? Make me wait? Five fights in a row, beating the same guys, it’s not easy. Give me that title shot, but either way, I’m so glad to be here, thank you Dana, thank UFC.“

A lot of fighters including the likes of Jon Jones, felt that Glover Teixeira definitely deserved a shot at the title. But, the only thing standing between Glover and the title fight is – the title bout between Israel Adesanya and Jan Blachowicz which has already been planned.
