“Imagine not worshipping Caitlin” – WNBA team excludes Caitlin Clark’s team from season ticket packages sending fans into frenzy

WNBA teams are not including Caitlin Clark's team in season tickets.

In just her debut year, Caitlin Clark shook the WNBA with her never-before-seen popularity. The impact of the first overall pick’s arrival resulted in a lot of changes in the league. Clark was breaking multiple records on a weekly basis and not just by her performances. The star had a lot to contribute to the WNBA’s overall viewership.

Even during the off-season, Caitlin Clark has been in the headlines for winning numerous awards, including the Athlete of the Year. Now, it seems that the 22-year-old will have an even bigger year than last as she is now impacting ticket packages. For the 2025 season, the Minnesota Lynx are not including games against Clark’s Indiana Fever in their half-season ticket packages.

While purchasing both the Lake and Aurora packages, games against Indiana will not be included in the deal. On their website, the team has an option to add tickets of the Fever games separately after purchasing the half-season tickets. This speaks volumes of Clark’s influence as including those games in the package may result in the team losing money.

Retailing the Fever tickets separately allows Minnesota to sell at a higher price. Despite the exclusion being unusual, it is important to note that this is not the case for all the teams. Some teams including the reigning champs, the New York Liberty do actually include Fever games in their season packages. Regardless, the ‘Clark effect’ is nothing short of extraordinary.

Fans were shocked to learn Caitlin Clark’s impact on the season tickets

The Caitlin Clark effect last season was truly undeniable, but the Indiana guard still had to put in work to gain her peers’ approval. From her Olympics omission to facing doubts about her credibility as the Athlete of the Year, Clark took on a lot of non-believers. Hence, the ex-Iowa star’s fans were over the moon after learning about the Fever games exclusion in half-season tickets.

Angel Reese, last season, stated that the reason behind the viewership boost for WNBA is not just Clark but also herself. After that statement, Clark’s fans have been dedicated to finding proof of Clark’s solo impact. Now, with the half-season tickets, the fans saw a perfect opportunity. Checkout some of the reactions of fans below.

The next WNBA season is four months away but Clark is already making headlines. The star seems to be enjoying her time off, engaging in multiple non-basketball activities. After an incredible and historic first season, Clark’s non-rookie year is definitely something fans are looking forward to.
