Just when everyone thought the controversy of Imane Khelif died down, things took a darker turn than anyone would have anticipated. First, it was the leaked medical report proving that Khelif was not a female. Famous personalities like JK Rowling, Riley Gaines, Elon Musk and conservative voices brought much attention to the matter.
Now, their claim of Khelif not being a female is proven accurate according to the latest published sex test results of the controversial boxer. A blood test released by Olympic Press Committee Member Alan Abrahamson confirmed that Imane Khelif was male. The test was conducted in 2023 before the Boxing World Championship in New Delhi at the request of IBA.
Now, the pressure will pile on the Paris Olympics officials to explain the truth regarding the medical report released by Abrahamson. After all, they allowed the controversial boxer to compete despite much outrage, and Khelif did go on to win the gold medal in the 66kg category.

Just a few days back, World Boxing implemented a policy change that will require contestants to require sex testing to compete. Thus, Khelif was not allowed to compete in the upcoming Eindhoven Box Cup. The controversy that was attracted from the Paris Olympics made World Boxing to investigate and come up with the best solution moving forward.
The boxing association will also likely investigate the leaked medical report of Imane Khelif moving forward. Either way, the controversial boxer will have to pass the sex testing to further compete in the women’s division.
JK Rowling celebrates free speech after leaked medical report of Imane Khelif comes to light
The author of the famous Harry Potter series, JK Rowling, remains one of the most outspoken voices for women’s right. As such, she has always wanted women’s sports to feature just biological female competitors. The report suggests that Khelif was not a female due to sex testing failure.

This did indeed put the author against the controversial boxer. Rowling clashed with LGBTQ+ activists and other woke people online regarding this issue. When Khelif won the gold medal, the detractors mocked Rowling for not supporting the Algerian boxer. At one point, Khelif thought about suing Rowling and others for online bullying, and the author had to delete some of the tweets regarding the boxer.
Now that the medical report was released by Abrahamson, Rowling did not choose to celebrate this as a great victory in the face of truth. Instead, the famous author quoted Audre Lorde to reveal why she chose to speak out against Khelif and to be in a minority group voicing what they thought were the truth. Check out the tweet below:
“When we speak we are afraid our words will not be heard nor welcomed, but when we are silent we are still afraid, so it is better to speak.”

For a long time, the world was really divided on whether Khelif was a female or not. So far, the conservative voices continue to call for the Olympics officials to strip the Algerian boxer off the gold medal. Boxing associations took notice, and they made the sex testing as compulsory moving forward. It remains to be seen how Khelif fights back after the controversy took a dark turn.
