The Women’s final of the 2024 Wimbledon played on the famous Centre Court was attended by a star-studded crowd! From Tom Cruise, Zendaya, and Hugh Jackman to the celebrities of the tennis world, including Maria Sharapova and Billie Jean King, social media is filled with pictures of them as they watched Barbora Krejcikova take on Jasmine Paolini on Saturday (July 13).
31st seed Krejcikova and 7th seed Paolini advanced to their first Wimbledon final after beating Elena Rybakina and Donna Vekic respectively in the semifinals.
Paolini, who reached the French Open final last month and became the second women’s player after Serena Williams since 2015 to reach the summit clashes of French Open and Wimbledon, failed to win her first major title. She lost the first set, came back strongly in the second and tried hard in the third to level the scores but in the end, she lost the match with a scoreline of 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
In the French Open final, the Italian seventh seed lost to World No. 1 Iga Swiatek who became the champion in Paris for the fourth time and clinched her fifth major trophy. A day after the final, Paolini lost the doubles final at Roland Garros as well.

Just like the Women’s final, celebrity crowd is expected to grace the Centre Court for Sunday’s Men’s final between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. Djokovic will bid for his eighth Wimbledon title to join Roger Federer while Alcaraz will be playing for his second title.
It will also be the rematch of last year’s final at the SW19 and Djokovic this time would be avenging his five-set defeat. The win will also see Alcaraz have a 4-0 record in Grand Slam finals, having previously lifted the 2022 US Open, 2023 Wimbledon, and the 2024 French Open.
