Although Jose Mourinho has never needed much prodding to gloat about his coaching successes, he has discovered a new method to do it – getting a tattoo.
Mourino displayed the artwork that currently adorns his right upper arm — the Champions League cup wedged between the Europa League and Europa Conference League trophies — with the sleeve of his white T-shirt pushed up.
Mourinho became the first coach to win all three of the current European awards when he led AS Roma to the Europa Conference League championship last year.
Jose Mourinho – The Special One:
The Special One has now won all three continental cup competitions when the Giallorossi defeated Feyenoord 1-0 in the first Europa Conference League final. When Mourinho won the UEFA Cup and Champions League with Porto in back-to-back seasons, he became known as an expert in Europe.
After that, he transferred to Chelsea, where he continued to rule English football but was unable to bring home a European Cup for Stamford Bridge. But after transferring to Inter Milan, he immediately led them to the 2010 European Championship, defeating Bayern Munich.
His stint with Real Madrid came to an end without him adding any victories in UEFA tournaments, but in 2016–17, he won the Europa League with Manchester United. Mourinho completed the collection and returned to the winners’ circle in just his first season with Roma, becoming him the first manager to accomplish the feat.
The 59-year-old Portuguese wrote on Instagram, “This is my tattoo; the delight of the Roman people drove me to make it.”
“I then considered doing something unique to honor all the clubs where I had won European tournaments. At the same time, I wanted a special tattoo that, as of now, only I can have.”
With Porto in 2004 and Internazionale in 2010, Mourinho won the Champions League twice. He also won the UEFA Cup with Porto in 2003, the Europa League with Manchester United in 2017, and the UEFA Cup with Roma in May.
