Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic took time off from his tennis duties to cheer on his national volleyball team on Sunday (July 28). The tennis legend was spotted supporting the team along with his kids, Stefan and Tara, and his wife, Jelena.
The Serbians were up against the hosts France in volleyball. Despite making a strong start, they stumbled against the resilient French players and lost 3-2 (23-25, 25-17, 25-17, 21-25, 15-6).

Djokovic would have had flashbacks of his tennis matches, considering the Serbian fans were in the minority. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has a habit of playing with the crowds against him across various tennis tournaments in his career.
The Serbian volleyball players would have loved to hear his insights into playing against the host nation. Serbia will have Monday off before playing Slovenia on Tuesday at the Paris Olympics.
Rafael Nadal beats Marton Fucsovics to set up Novak Djokovic clash at the Paris Olympics
22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal will face Novak Djokovic in the second round of the Paris Olympics. The ‘King of Clay’ beat Marton Fucsovics 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 on Sunday to set up the match.

This will be their 60th match in their rivalry, with Djokovic leading 30-29. The last time they played was at the 2022 Roland Garros quarter-finals, where the left-hander won in four sets. When the draw was announced, fans were excited about a possible Nadal-Djokovic clash. The Serb defeated Matthew Ebden on Saturday and Nadal’s win over Fucsovics on Sunday confirmed their meeting.
During his match against Fucsovics, the 38-year-old faced a tough challenge. The Hungarian led 2-1 in the final set and had a chance to break Nadal’s serve, but the two-time Olympic Gold medalist fought back. A crucial hold in that game turned the tide. Fucsovics then missed a key backhand, giving the left-hander the break. That was enough as Nadal held serve for the remainder of the match to secure victory.
