IND vs ENG: England announce squad for ODIs, no Jofra Archer and Joe Root

The England Cricket Board (ECB) announced their squad for the upcoming three-match One day International (ODI) series against India. Eoin Morgan to continued leading the side just the like shortest format while Joe Root and Jofra Archer emerged as the biggest misses from their side.

ECB told that England’s Test skipper Joe Root has been rested while Archer’s elbow injury has aggravated during the T20Is.

“Jofra Archer is returning to the UK for further management and investigation of his right elbow injury.

“Archer’s elbow issue has deteriorated throughout the Twenty20 International series and made it increasingly challenging for him to maintain performance levels. He has been deemed unfit for selection for the ODI series that features matches on 23, 26 and 28 March,” ECB’s press release read.

Apart from their 14-member ODI squad, Jake Ball, Chris Jordan, and Dawid Malan would also travel to Pune as cover. These three players were also part of the visiting side’s squad for T20Is.

ODIs to kickstart from March 23

The two sides will lock horns on March 23, 2021, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune for the maiden ODI. The Indian cricket team has already announced their full-length squad with several changes from the T20Is.
