India tour of Australia: Indian players touch down in Australia following conclusion of IPL 2020

Team India’s players along with support staff touched down in Sydney today, nearly 20 hours after their initial departure from Dubai yesterday. They had departed from the UAE after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League 2020 which saw the Mumbai Indians (MI) clinch their record 5th IPL title.

Before the squad had left from Dubai, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had posted pictures of the Indian squad along with coach Ravi Shastri in customized PPE kits and masks. Having landed in Australia, the players will now enter the bio-bubble in Australia before starting their preparations for the upcoming matches They will be following the same routine in Australia that they did in the UAE for the IPL.

‘Hello Australia! Team India is here’ – BCCI

The BCCI posted images of the Indian cricket team following their touchdown at the Sydney airport. Their official Twitter handles posted images of Shikhar Dhawan, Navdeep Saini, Jasprit Bumrah and Sanju Samson in their PPE kits at the airport. They captioned it saying, “Hello Australia! Team India is here!’

The first two ODIs on November 27 and 29 are set to be played at the SCG, the third ODI on December 1 and the first T20I on December 4 will take place at Canberra’s Manuka Oval, before the teams return to Sydney for the final two T20Is at the SCG on December 6 and 8.

A pink-ball Test is scheduled to be held at Adelaide Oval between December 17-21.. Melbourne will host the Boxing Day Test (December 26-30) followed by Tests in Sydney (January 7-11) and finally, Brisbane (January 15-19).
