India vs Australia: ‘India need to remember that they were ahead for two days in Adelaide,’ says Gautam Gambhir
Indian Team dominated the first two days of the pink-ball Test

The Australian team made a terrific comeback at the Adelaide Test after conceding a 53-run lead against India. Aussie pacers Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins helped their side to bundle out the opposition for their lowest-ever total of 36. On the other hand, India looked in a great position to register a victory after the first two days. However, their batsmen let them down after a horrific collapse in the opening session of day three.

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir feels that India need to remember that they were ahead for two days in the inaugural Test. He said that there are three Tests to go, and the visiting side still has a chance to bounce back.

“They will have to forget that because three Test matches are still left. And it is not that you are 3-0 down and you are looking to come back in the fourth Test, which is very difficult,” Gambhir said on the Cricket Connected Show on Star Sports.

“It is okay you lost the first Test match and were all out for 36, which is an embarrassment. The players will be feeling about that. But you need to remember that you were ahead for two days in the Test match. You were ahead in the Test match when the third day had started as well,” he added.

‘Australia won’t give spicy wickets’

Indian bowlers impressed all at the Adelaide Oval

The former cricketer stated that the kangaroos won’t give much pace and bounce in the next Test at the MCG. He said that Ajinkya Rahane and co have the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Ravi Ashwin to claim the wickets of their opponents.

“You have those types of bowlers, so Australia will also get rattled by that. So, Australia will not give too spicy wickets because they know Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Ashwin can take their 20 wickets,” he signed off.
