After an embarrassing defeat in Adelaide, the Indian team is set to make several changes in their playing XI ahead of Boxing Day Test. KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are most likely to replace Virat Kohli and Wriddhiman Saha in Melbourne.
Australian skipper Tim Paine stated that the hosts are aware of the aggressive playing style of these two batsmen. He said that the kangaroo bowlers have prepared to counter the ‘dangerous players’ like Rahul and Pant.

“We know that some of the players coming into their side like KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are dangerous players. And they will play positively. If we give those guys an inch, they will take a mile. So, we have to be bang on the mark as we were in Adelaide and be prepared tomorrow for another 5-day battle,” Paine told reporters on Friday.
India is a proud cricket country: Paine
The Indian team bundled out for their lowest total (36) at the inaugural match in Test cricket history. Paine said that India is a proud cricket country and has lots of talented players to bounce back.
“We can’t pay any attention to mental scars or whatever anyone is talking about,” Paine said of India. “I mean, India is a proud cricket country. They are an extremely talented Test match side with lots of dangerous players.”
“We have been on overseas tours before when we have been bowled out for 50, and it can be really difficult. That’s why it’s so important for us to turn up tomorrow with the attitude that we turned up with in the first Test,” he said.
