India vs Australia: “Ravindra Jadeja is grossly underrated,” says former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is in the form of his life with the bat at the moment. This has been the year where he has come into his own with the bat. For the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the all-rounder played a crucial hand especially at the death overs with a strike-rate in excess of 180. He also helped finish off games for his side: something his skipper MS Dhoni is known for and tasked with, for the franchise.
In the tour of Australia that has followed, Jadeja has carried his excellent form with the bat. After scoring brisk 20s in the first two ODIs in a losing cause, Jadeja was at his ruthless best in the 3rd ODI as he scored 66 runs off just 50 balls. In the 1st T20I that followed, the southpaw struck a crucial 44 runs off 23 balls to help his side to victory. He also injured himself in the process which will see him miss the remainder of the T20I series.
‘Jadeja deserves a lot more respect’ – Kaif
Former Indian batsman Mohammad Kaif took to Twitter to express his thoughts on Ravindra Jadeja. Kaif pointed out that India will dearly miss his services in the remainder of the T20I series. He also stated that Jadeja is a valuable player who provides balance for the side.
His Tweet read, “For two successive games Ravindra Jadeja showed why he is of so much value to India in white-ball cricket as he provides much needed balance. Even after 11 years he continues to be grossly underrated and deserves a lot more respect than he gets. Feel India will miss him dearly.”
The second T20I between India and Australia will be held tomorrow at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
