India vs Australia: Read Cheteshwar Pujara’s daughter ‘gullible saying’ to heal his injury-marred father

Cheteshwar Pujara

The stoic zeal of Cheteshwar Pujara brought India the perennial joy after winning the Test series 2-1 and retaining the Border-Gavaskar trophy. He overlooked his throbbing body for the nation’s larger interest, was the pressure absorber who anchored Team India when the wind was in Australia’s direction.
The wincing-in-pain Pujara was thwarted with 11 nasty bowls by the Australian speedsters on the Day 5 of the fourth and the decider Test in Brisbane, injuring his head, chest, back, shoulder, fingers, thigh and elbow. Voluntarily victimizing himself to 211 balls, Pujara scored 56 runs and gave reasons to use ‘The Greatest’ in his name’s prefix.
Pujara said that he couldn’t sleep much since his painful finger and throbbing shoulder didn’t allow him to toss or turn. But he was relieved to go to the rehab centre- his home after battling the fiercest cricket game.
Cheteshwar Pujara’s two-year-old daughter Aditi, in the child-like-innocence said, “When he comes home, I will kiss where he is hurt, he will be fine.”
Remarking on this home remedy, Pujara said, “That’s what I do to her when she falls, so she believes that a kiss can heal every wound.”
The senior Test player feels that injuries become a part and parcel when one is entirely devoted to the 22-yard pitch. Sore muscles, dithered tendons, impaired tissues, slight niggles and wrecked bones don’t bother much.
The 32-year-old says that he has become immune to pain and doesn’t take pain killers. He said, “From my early days, I am not in the habit of taking pain- killers. That’s why my threshold to bear pain is pretty high. You play for so long, you get used to getting hit. Only if the doctors really insist will he take pain-killers.”
Pujara became one of the leading scorers for Team India who accumulated 271 runs and faced 928 deliveries. In the four matches he featured in, he smashed four lion-hearted half-centuries for Team India.
