With India’s tour of Australia looming, a lot of talk has revolved around the Indian pace bowlers and their ability to unsettle and dismiss the Aussie batters. Australia who lost the series against India Down Under last time around in 2018-19, will be rejuvenated by the return of batting aces Steve Smith and David Warner who were banned back then (though Warner will miss the first Test with injury).

Steve Smith, the current World No. 1 according to the ICC rankings and one of the most difficult batsman to bowl to due to his unique stance will pose the biggest challenge to the Indian bowlers. His form and the Indian pacers’ ability to pick up his wicket might as well decide which way the series goes.

Steve Smith relaxes ahead of all-important Test

Steve Smith took to Twitter today to share an image of himself relaxing on a sofa, reading a book and drinking coffee. He captioned it, “Even when preparing for a Test match it’s important to have a little downtime and switch off, even if it’s just for an hour over your Sunday morning coffee. This is not something that comes easy to me as I find it hard to stop visualizing the game or shadow batting!

Smith’s relaxed demeanor ahead of the Test has clearly mirrored what India might in all probability face on the field. The Indian bowlers will hope the 31-year-old doesn’t hit the ground running and frustrate them ball after ball, over after over when the sides face off on the 17th of December for the first Test at the Adelaide Oval.
