Team India is scheduled to travel to Australia in a tour that comprises of three ODIs, three T20s, and four Test matches. However, now it is learnt that Virat Kohli has apparently written to the board that he will be unavailable for as many as three Test matches of the India vs Australia Test series.

The tour is set to begin on November 27. All the selected players who were playing the ongoing IPL 2020 have already joined the Indian bio-bubble and started training.

Virat Kohli will lead the team in all three formats. Ajinkya Rahane will resume his responsibilities as the Test vice-captain. In Rohit Sharma’s absence, KL Rahul will be the vice-captain for the limited-overs matches.

The Indian team will be accompanied by four additional young net bowlers for the Australia tour. Ishant Sharma and Rohit Sharma are under medical supervision and their progress will be checked on a regular basis.

The Australian Test squad will be announced later this week.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had announced in September that they are going to be parents soon. The baby’s delivery is expected to be in January. Now as per reports, Virat Kohli may be unavailable for as many as three Test matches.

Rohit won’t travel to Australia unless he clears a fitness  Test conducted by Team India physio Nitin Patel. Unless Patel and the National Cricket Academy declare him fit, Rohit is not going to Australia,” a source close to BCCI told The Times of India on Monday.

However, we’re keen to see that Rohit is fit in time for the Test series, considering that Virat has written to the Board that he may miss as many as three Tests due to personal reasons,” the source added.
