India vs Australia: Twitter lauds Ajinkya Rahane’s gesture to Ravindra Jadeja after getting run-out
Day 3 of the second Test between India and Australia ended with India on top having reduced Australia to 133/6 with a lead of just 2 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. While the visitors’ bowling was top-notch, their strong position in the Test at the moment was largely due to a captain’s knock by stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane who struck 112 runs off 223 balls in the first innings.
Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja ended Day 2 with an unbeaten 100-run partnership and continuing on Day 3, their partnership was broken when a bad call for a run ended with the Indian skipper getting run-out by the barest of margins. Despite the fact that Jadeja was partly at fault for the call, Rahane showed no signs of frustration but went over to the former and fist-bumped him before making his way to the pavilion.
Twitter all praise for Rahane’s gesture
Following Rahane’s gesture after his run-out, Twitter was filled with praise for the stand-in skipper’s composure. Here are a few such Tweets:
