India vs Australia: Twitter reacts as India suffer catastrophic loss in first Test

From a position of good strength and promise, India dramatically lost the plot in the first Test at the Adelaide Oval to shatter a plethora of unwanted records and hand Australia an easy win. Resuming on 9/1, India suffered a stunning implosion to get bowled out for 36 – their lowest ever score in Test match history and in the process broke several other unwanted records.

Although the Indian batters endured a horror show, credit has to be given to the Aussie bowlers for persisting with their excellent lines and lengths. Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins were unplayable as they picked up 5 and 4 wickets respectively. Mohammad Shami retiring hurt with injury only rubbed salt into India’s wounds. Chasing a meagre score of 90, Australia did it without breaking a sweat to go 1-0 up in the series.
