India vs Australia: Twitter reacts as Rishabh Pant does an MS Dhoni by plotting Matthew Wade’s dismissal

The first day of the second Test between India and Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground witnessed some fascinating cricket as the visitors ended the day on top. Bowling first after losing the toss, the Indian bowlers were excellent with their lines and lengths to bundle out the Aussies for just 195. Stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane‘s field placements were on point as well.
India had earlier made four changes, bringing in Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja and wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant. The latter had a mixed day behind the stumps as he did let some balls go through him to gift bye-runs. However, the 23-year-old who is known to be quite chatty behind the stumps was involved in one of the moments of the day when he plotted opener Matthew Wade’s dismissal.
During the ball before Wade’s dismissal, Pant was heard on the stump mic telling, “Andar hi rakhna, ye maarega” (Keep it inside the stumps. He will hit.) to bowler Ravichandran Ashwin. Like he predicted, Wade went for a big shot the next ball only to be caught in spectacular fashion by Ravindra Jadeja. Pant’s advice and prediction worked in perfect fashion for India reminding fans of former wicket-keeper MS Dhoni who was known for plotting many such dismissals.
