India vs Australia: Twitterati trolls Ravi Shastri after India bundle out for 36 in Adelaide
The Indian batsmen had a horrible opening session on Day three of the inaugural Test match against Australia in Adelaide. India left the crease at 9/1 yesterday with Mayank Agarwal and night-watchman Jasprit Bumrah. However, their batsmen fell like nine pins, where one followed the other. The visiting side ended their second innings of the match at 36/9 as Mohammed Shami retired out after getting injured.
India looked in a commanding position at the end of Day two at the Adelaide Oval. With an effective lead of 62 runs, Virat Kohli’s men were cruising for a historic victory in the pink-ball Test. However, the Australian bowlers dominated the game in the opening session where Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood shared all nine wickets. Cummins claimed four scalps while Hazlewood ended the innings with a brilliant spell of 5-3-8-5.
This collapse also marked the lowest innings total for India in Test cricket history. India’s earlier worst score (42) came against England during the Lord’s Test in 1974. Also, none of the Indian batsmen was able to reach the double figures run-mark. Opening batsman Mayank Agarwal emerged as top-scorer for his side with a paltry knock of nine.

Soon after the innings was over, social media went berserk as they lashed out at the Indian head coach Ravi Shastri. The fans also questioned the team management’s choice of playing Prithvi Shaw ahead of an in-form Shubaman Gill. The Twitterati shared some hilarious memes to troll Shastri on India’s one of the worst batting performances in Test cricket history.
