India vs Australia: Umesh Yadav unlikely to take part in rest of second Test and doubtful for third Test after injuring calf muscle

Indian fast-bowler Umesh Yadav injured his calf muscle today and according to PTI, his participation in the third Test will be in doubt. Umesh could only bowl 3.3 overs in Australia‘s first innings today on Day 3 of the second Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Despite the same, the pacer managed to pick up a wicket, providing the first breakthrough for India by removing Joe Burns.
Umesh’s fourth over was cut short after he suffered a calf muscle injury and he had to taken off the field for scans. In spite of his absence, India did not seem to miss him much as the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah all accounted for wickets to reduce Australia to 133/6 with a lead of 2 runs heading into Day 4.
Umesh Yadav doubtful for third Test; Who could replace him?
Reports have emerged from PTI that Umesh Yadav is unlikely to take part in the ongoing second Test and that his participation in the third Test is doubtful as well. India will thus have to pick up the remaining four Australian wickets using the rest of the bowlers.
With regard to the potential replacements for Umesh, Navdeep Saini is a part of the squad and hasn’t gotten a game in the Test series yet. There are also other net bowlers who are present as back-up. These include Shardul Thakur, T Natarajan and Kartik Tyagi. It will thus be interesting to see if one of the aforesaid three will be inducted into the squad as replacements and potentially get a game.
