India clinched a victory for the ages in the fourth Test against Australia at the Gabba thanks to a scintillating performance by their inexperienced line-up. The likes of Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant fired for India in the fourth innings to ensure India chased down a total of 328 on Day 5 to breach the Gabba fortress and create history.
Apart from the batting effort, the bowling attack who had a combined experience of just 4 Tests between them came together as a unit and bowled out the Aussies twice in less than 200 overs. The leader of the attack was Mohammed Siraj who picked up five wickets in the second innings. Shardul Thakur shone by picking up a total of 7 wickets in the match as well, while also contributing with the bat by scoring a half-century in the first innings.
Healy responds to fan who compared Siraj and Starc
Australian pacer Mitchell Starc wasn’t at his best throughout the series against India as he looked off-sorts and inconsistent with his lines and lengths often. An Indian fan took to Twitter to compare the performances of Starc and Mohammed Siraj. He wrote, “Lmao Siraj has more wickets than Starc in this series.” Starc’s wife and Australian women’s team cricketer Alyssa Healy promptly came up with a classy response saying, “Why’s it funny?! Reflects Siraj’s ability and reward for effort…”
Another Indian fan then replied to Healy saying, “According to you.. Either Starc has no ability or he isn’t putting enough efforts.” Healy once again came up with another classy response saying, “Actually no. I’m giving credit to a young Indian bowler who’s had an incredible series and should be praised for his efforts!” These responses have since then, gone viral.
