India vs England 2021, 1st Test Day 5: Talking points as James Anderson and Jack Leach cruise England to victory in Chennai

The visiting team- England piped India on Day 5 of the first Test as they bundled Team India at 192 runs and won the match by a comprehensive margin of 227 runs.
Indian players- Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara walked the pitch during the first session of Day 5 when India were 39-1, and India had 400 odd runs to chase.
However, the deteriorating pitch assisted England bowlers, and soon they wrapped the Indian unit to clinch a win.
As England are now up 1-0 in the four-match Test series, we look at the talking points from the day’s play.
Scintillating Shubman Gill
The youngster garnered attention as he played yet another defining innings on an uncertain pitch that had deteriorated over days of play. He smashed a half-century before becoming a prey to a spectacular delivery from James Anderson.
Kohli’s Captain knock
Amid all the turbulence floated on the Indian side, Indian skipper played appreciable innings. He gathered a little 54-run partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin, but soon the latter was dismissed. Kohli continued his performance with the bat until Ben Stokes dismissed him on 72 runs.
Leach-Anderson bowl magic
The left-arm spinner Jack Leach and right-arm speedster James Anderson did the trick for England as together they scalped seven Indian wickets. While Leach rattled Cheteshwar Pujara among the leading batsmen, Anderson sent Shubman Gill, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant to the pavilion.
