India vs England 2021: Fans in Chennai ask Moeen Ali for updates from ‘Thala’ Ajith’s movie Valimai

Moeen Ali shone in England‘s first innings against India in the second Test as he picked up four wickets despite being a tad bit expensive. The highlight of the first day was his delivery to dismiss Indian skipper Virat Kohli for a duck. The ball landed outside off stump but spun in sharply through Kohli’s attempted drive and dislodged the stumps as the Englishmen swarmed Ali in celebration.
Ali then went on to dismiss vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane as well before returning on Day 2 to send back tailenders Axar Patel and Ishant Sharma. The all-rounder however, couldn’t follow up his good performances with the ball, through his batting as he got out while on 6 off 30 balls off Axar Patel’s bowling. Amidst all the cricketing action, Moeen Ali was involved in another interesting moment when fans in Chennai asked him for movie updates.
Fans ask Moeen Ali for ‘Valimai update’
While Moeen Ali was fielding on the boundary, fans who were seated nearby called out to him and asked him for ‘Valimai updates’. Ali gave them a thumbs up and continued going about his business. The moment has gone viral on social media since then.
Valimai is an upcoming movie directed by H Vinoth starring ‘Thala’ Ajith and produced by Boney Kapoor. The movie was announced two years ago but fans of the star haven’t got a single update about when the movie would release or any other information about a teaser or trailer for the film. This has led to many fans flooding social media asking the movie team to give them updates about the movie.
The same has spilled over now to the cricket field as well with ardent fans going to the extent of asking Moeen Ali for the said updates.
