India vs England 2021: “It will take some doing” – Michael Vaughan says India will be the ‘best team of this era’ if they win in England
Michael Vaughan
Michael Vaughan has been at the forefront of the recently concluded series between India and England with his opinions on his social media handles. He has been extremely critical of the pitches which were used for the series. The former England captain used words like ‘unplayable’, ‘shocker’ and ‘rank-turner’ to describe the pitches on offer. Despite the same, in the end, he stated clearly that India were deserved winners.
The fact of the matter was that India were completely dominant from the second test match onwards. The spin duo of Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin spun a web around each and every English batsman. None of them with the exception of Joe Root looked assured at the crease throughout the series.
With a return series in England planned later in the year, all eyes will be on how India perform there in swinging conditions.
‘India have been far too good’ – Michael Vaughan
Michael Vaughan took to Twitter yesterday following India’s series win and wrote, “India have been far too good … the last 3 Tests they have absolutely hammered England … If they can win in England they are without doubt the best Test team of this era … but that will take some doing against the swinging ball“
Having won in Australia and being ranked No. 1 in the world, India most certainly are the best in the world at present. But as Vaughan has stated, winning under clouds in the swinging conditions of England against the likes of James Anderson and Stuart Broad would be no easy feet. Ahead of the series, India have the World Test Championship (WTC) final to look forward to against New Zealand as well.
