All-rounder Krunal Pandya got off to a scintillating start in his ODI debut. The southpaw smashed a 31 ball 58 to announce his arrival in the longer format of the game. His breezy knock along with KL Rahul saw India finish the first innings on top after losing the toss yet again in the tour.

A century stand between Krunal and Rahul saw the hosts storm to a respectable total of 317 as they smashed more than 100 runs in the last nine overs. The Baroda all rounder scripted a record of smashing the fastest half-century on debut in an ODI. As Krunal dedicated his knock to his late father, he was seen in tears following his fabulous knock.

While Krunal took the English attack apart during his ferocious knock he was also engaged in a heated argument with English all-rounder Tom Curran. In the penultimate over of the innings, Krunal and Curran were involved in a verbal battle as the all-rounder looked unhappy with an umpire’s decision of a wide-ball on the very previous delivery. Eventually, the on-field umpire had to step in to separate the two.
