India vs England 2021: Twitter erupts as Rohit Sharma brings up his 7th Test century

After an impressive outing in Australia, Indian opener Rohit Sharma has announced his arrival in style. Following up a poor outing in the first Test, Rohit struck a ton in the second to silence his critics. The Mumbai batsman became the first Indian to score a ton in the calendar year as he steadied the hosts’ ship following early hiccups.

After Shubman Gill’s dismissal on a duck, the onus fell upon Sharma’s shoulder. With India losing wickets at the other end, Sharma kept his calm which later paid off as a ton. Currently batting, he has smashed 132 runs off 184 balls. His fiery knock includes sixteen fours and two massive sixes. Batting with the vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane on the pitch, the duo has knit a century stand between them.
