India vs England 2021: Twitter reacts as India decide to rest Rohit Sharma

With the test series between India and England having concluded, the focus has now shifted to the T20I series and the first T20I is underway at the moment in Ahmedabad. Now, the crowd and the Indian fans were in for a surprise at the toss when Virat Kohli stated that India would open with KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan while Rohit Sharma was rested and for the first two matches at that.

This was especially surprising given the fact that Kohli had made it clear in yesterday’s pre-match press conference that Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul would be the openers for the first T20I. Therefore, when fans learned that Rohit wouldn’t play, they took to Twitter to send in their thoughts on the same. They also spoke of the exclusion of Rohit Sharma’s fellow Mumbai Indians (MI) players and potential debutants Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan.
