India vs England 2021: Varun Chakravarthy might not be seen in Indian squad for T20Is
Varun Chakravarthy
Varun Chakravarthy has just missed his national debut for the second time in the last 5 months. As he didn’t pass the wellness test set up by the BCCI team for the Australian tour and now for the England T20 Squad.
Varun hasn’t done good in both and might not join the team for the T-20 Squad. The wellness test is of finishing a 2 km run in 8.5 minutes or scoring 17.1 in the Yo-Yo test . He proved himself worthy in the IPL playing for KKR.
Varun Chakravarthy said that he’s not been informed about anything until now. “I have not been informed of anything as yet,” he told Cricbuzz.
Varun Chakravarthy not selected for domestic tournaments
Varun came into the limelight with an impressive IPL season in 2020. The mystery spinner impressed one and all with his economical bowling in the slam bang format. And he also proved his wicket-taking abilities with a fifer against Sunrisers Hyderabad. With the T20 World Cup around the corner, he will be looking to cement his place in the side.
As he sets his eye on the big prize, the World Cup, Varun is far away from the mix of things in the domestic circuit. Despite an impressive IPL and India call ups, he wasn’t selected in the side for the Vijay Hazare trophy. While TNCA hails him as a T20 specialist, he was not considered for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. This possess some big questions when it comes to Varun’s future.
