India vs England 2021: WATCH – Virender Sehwag posts hilarious video of Rishabh Pant making noises from behind the stumps
Rishabh Pant is among the most vocal players from behind the stumps. The 23-year-old wicket-keeper is often seen chirping out words of encouragement to his bowlers and cheering his team on. He does not shy away from light-hearted banter with the opposition player as well. Amusingly, he is also heard singing or making noises in excitement while keeping wickets. One such incident occurred during day 1 of the third test in Ahmedabad.
The test is a crucial one with regard to qualification to the final of the World Test Championship (WTC). The series is locked at 1-1 but India are now in the driver’s seat to make it 2-1 thanks to a terrific performance on the opening day. The bowlers led from the front as they bundled out England for just 112 with Axar Patel scalping six. In reply, India got to 99/3 with Rohit Sharma remaining not out on a half-century.
Virender Sehwag reacts to Rishabh Pant making noises
During the 36th over of England’s innings bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin, Jack Leach drove a ball on the off-side and looked to set off for a single. But Rishabh Pant from behind the stumps started making excited noises. Further the fact that the ball went straight to the fielder dissuaded the batsmen from taking a run. A video of the incident has since then, gone viral on social media.
Now, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag reacted to the video and posted it on his Instagram account saying, “The ultimate street cricketer – #rishabhpant , make so much noise that the batsman gets confused. Who else after watching this think they could have been wicket keeper just by making such sounds ? #indvseng #daynighttest” Sehwag’s post has also gone viral now.
