India vs England 2021: Wasim Jaffer brutally trolls Michael Vaughan for his tweet comparing Mumbai Indians and India
The first ODI between India and England ended in a defeat for the hosts as they crumbled under some excellent bowling by the visitors and explosive batting. India were never really in the game right from the very beginning as they kept losing wickets in regular intervals. It was only Shreyas Iyer who could come up with a useful contribution as he waged a lone battle scoring 67 runs off 48 balls to take India to 124.
England then closed out proceedings in under 16 overs as they came out all guns blazing with the likes of Jason Roy, Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan making useful contributions. It was clearly a day to forget for India as nothing seemed to go right for them. The only positive to take from the match would be the terrific knock from Shreyas Iyer in the first innings.
Wasim Jaffer replies to Michael Vaughan’s tweet
While India were being dominated by England, former English captain Michael Vaughan took to Twitter to state that he thought the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) was a better team in the shortest format of the game than the current Indian team. The tweet very soon went viral with a plethora of Indian fans taking their time to either agree or disagree with him.
Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer then sent a reply to Vaughan saying, “Not all teams are lucky enough to play four overseas players Michael.” The tweet seemed like a subtle dig at the fact that England have a lot of born in other countries representing them while seemingly referring to the fact that each IPL side is allowed to play four overseas players.
