India vs England 2021: “Dad will definitely treat them” – Washington Sundar gives hilarious reply to Wasim Jaffer’s meme

Washington Sundar has been going from strength to strength ever since he made his debut for the Indian team in Australia. Having been drafted into the squad following injuries in Australia, Washington came up with a spectacular showing in his debut test at the Gabba both with bat and ball. He carried the form to the home series against England as well as he came up with two elegant half-centuries.

In the fourth test, his partnership with Rishabh Pant helped rescue India from a precarious position and put them on top. Washington was however, unlucky to miss out on a century as he was left stranded on 96* with the last two batsmen, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj going for a duck. Due to the same memes on Washington’s father being angry on the latter duo were made due to his reputation of expecting a lot more from his son. Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer was one of those who came up with a meme.

Washington Sundar’s reply to Wasim Jaffer

Wasim Jaffer took to Twitter to post an image from the movie ‘3 Idiots’ captioning it, “Axar, Ishant and Siraj next time they meet Washington’s father at a function. But seriously this 96* is no less than a hundred, very well played @Sundarwashi5.” Washington Sundar then replied to the tweet saying, “Thanks a lot bhaiya! Dad will definitely treat them with a lot of biryani and Halwa!”

Although it could be a tweet that is to be taken literally, meaning that Washington says his dad will treat them well. But there could also be a hidden meaning in his tweet. Treating one with halwa (‘Halwa kudukuradhu’) is slang in Tamil for being cunning towards someone and deceiving them.
