India’s Vice-Captain Ajinkya Rahane is on a roll be it with the bat or his vigilance on the field. Recently, he amazed the fans with his spectacular diving catch to erode Moeen Ali’s wicket on Axar Patel’s bowling.
The change in bowling trick worked for India as Axar Patel baffled the last recognized England batsmen Moeen Ali with his spin bowling.
Spectacular catch by Ajinkya Rahane
On a delivery that drifted away with angle, Moeen tried to defend when it carried a thick edge from his bat to the keeper Rishabh Pant. The ball further deflected from Pant’s pads and was finally caught by Ajinkya Rahane at the slips.
Axar Patel’s spin in the 49th over paved Moeen Ali’s way towards the pavilion. The dismissal happened just a few minutes ahead of the tea break and Moeen had to return after scoring just six runs from his willow.
Earlier during India’s first innings, Ajinkya Rahane played a defining knock of 67 runs and gathered a 100 plus run partnership with the centurion Rohit Sharma. He was a key contributor along with Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant in driving India to a total of 329 runs.
