India have got off to a bad start in the ongoing T20I series against England as they were restricted to just 124/7 in their quota of 20 overs. It was a horror start that India got off to, losing KL Rahul and Virat Kohli very early. The wickets then kept falling and with the exception of Shreyas Iyer who scored an excellent half-century, none of the batters were able to get going in the all-important first T20I.

The series will especially be crucial for both teams in identifying their best team combinations and strengths ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup which is set to take place in India later this year. The series can thus, be termed as a dress rehearsal for the big event. India will still fancy their chances to win the series but only marginally so because of the fact that England are the number 1 T20I side in the world.

Chasing a low target of 125, England came out all guns blazing with Jos Buttler and Jason Roy making merry from the very first over. Kohli tried out four different bowlers in the first four overs but none of them was able to pick up early wickets or restrict the run flow.

In the first ball of the fourth over bowled by Axar Patel, Buttler went over the top of long-on but KL Rahul who was fielding at the fence caught the ball and just as he was falling over, released the ball in time to save a valuable four runs.
