Rishabh Pant has been the talk of the town after his heroic performances in recent times for the Indian test team. He came up with yet another evidence of his potential with a knock for the ages in the fourth and final test against England to rescue India from a spot of bother and put them on course for a huge victory. His century was a spectacle in soaking in the pressure and then unleashing against the bowlers.
Apart from his batting ability, Rishabh Pant’s keeping has been on the rise as well. He was criticized a lot in the past for his unreliable keeping behind the stumps. But, the youngster showed that he was up for it with some terrific catches, stumpings and saves during the series against England and on turning tracks at that. It is very clear that this is a man who will be India’s keeper batsman for a long time.

In England’s second innings in the fourth test, England were batting at 65/4 and Ollie Pope was at the crease. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a good-length delivery which went past the batsman’s bat as he came down the track. It landed into the gloves of Pant from an awkward angle and the keeper had to collect it, balance himself before taking out the stumps. That was exactly what he aced to perfection and Pope was sent on his way.
The wicket was yet another proof of Rishabh Pant’s vastly increasing wicket-keeping ability. He was also named the Man of the Match for his contributions with both the bat and behind the stumps.
