India vs England 2021: ‘Aye bapu thaari bowling kamaal chhe’- Virat Kohli hails Axar Patel in local Gujarati language
What a dream start has Axar Patel got to his Test career. Though the debut was deferred as he suffered a knee injury just a few hours ahead of the first Test against England, he ensured he made a mark by taking a fifer in his debut in Chennai. Since then, scalping wickets has been his habit, and economy another topping he offers with his bowling.
Recently, the local boy, Axar, shone bright in his hometown during the just-concluded pink-ball day-night Test in Ahmedabad. By dismissing six England wickets in the first innings and eroding five in the second one, he became the blue-eyed boy of the match.
Hilarious compliment by Virat Kohli
In a video shared by BCCI on Twitter, Axar was seen being interviewed by allrounder Hardik Pandya after the former’s exceptional performance. Just when Pandya asked Axar of the feelings that he got while the crowd cheered him at his home ground, Indian skipper Virat Kohli hilariously interrupted in between to praise the rookie bowler.
Kohli spoke ‘Aye bapu thaari bowling kamaal chhe’ (You bowled exceptionally well). Axar jolted the entire visiting Team by his deceptive spin bowling.
Patel has been in the sublime form right at the start of his career. Just in the two-Test matches he has featured for Team India, he has taken three fifers.
Team India won the third Test in Ahmedabad convincingly by ten wickets and attracted the series 2-1.
