The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in the likely talks to shift the venue for the One-Day-International series between India and England from Pune after witnessing a sudden spike in the coronavirus cases in Maharashtra recently. The 3-match ODI series is scheduled to be held at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune from March 23 to 28.

Maharashtra recently witnessed a sudden surge in Covid-19 cases and recorded over 8,000 of them on Thursday with Mumbai registered over 1,100 cases on the same day.

With England’s complete tour to India comprising 4 Tests, 5 T20I’s and 3 ODI’s, the first three Tests of the series have concluded. The series stands 2-1 in ahead of the fourth Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The venue is the same for the T20I series. However, for ODI’s it was Pune, which is now into the re-consideration of the BCCI officials.

As far as the World Test Championship is concerned, Team India have their place still alive as they won the Test match in Ahmedabad. The visiting team England, are, however, out of contention after their recent defeat.
