India vs England: “He will show what he can do” – Bowling coach Bharat Arun says Kuldeep Yadav will play against England

Highly-rated left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav didn’t receive a lot of opportunities to shine in the year 2020. For his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he couldn’t receive much match-time as Varun Chakravarthy was preferred ahead of him as the second spinner to go with Sunil Narine. For India, he wasn’t given a game in the limited-overs series against Australia.
In the Test series as well, the same plight continued. Despite being a part of the original squad and a major chunk of the squad getting injured, India preferred options from players who weren’t in the squad (net bowlers) over Kuldeep for the added batting depth (Washington Sundar) and an extra seam-bowling option (T Natarajan). With the series against England looming, Kuldeep will hope he gets a chance to shine.
‘He is bowling magnificently now’ – Bharat Arun

The bowling coach of India, Bharat Arun spoke about Kuldeep recently and said, “Horses for courses is the best thing and when he gets a chance to play, he will show what he can do because he is bowling magnificently now and in India when we play these four Tests (against England) it will be his time.”
“If you want India to be doing well sustainably, you need a pool of bowlers who will be rotated time and again so that they stay fresh. Now we are blessed with a great bench strength,” he added.
“With the number of Tests we are going to play — four against England here and five in England –, it will be very handy. They will all be rotated and we will make sure the best team is put forward,” Arun signed off.
India are scheduled to play the first Test against England in Chennai from February 5.
