The final of the 2025 Women’s World Cup brings an end to an extravagant season of cricket that spanned over a month, having started on September 30. India Women made it to the Women’s CWC final for the third time, having previously finished runners-up twice in 2005 and 2017. The Women in Blue defeated Australia by five wickets, in a record run-chase of 339 runs. It marked a historic feat for them, who chased down a 300+ plus total for the first time in history, with their previous highest run-chase being a 265 runs against the same opponent in Mackay in 2021.

Meanwhile, the Proteas made it through to the final of the 2025 Women’s CWC by defeating England in the first semi-final by a record-margin of 125 runs, also making it the first time for a South African team to qualify for a final. Captain Laura Wolvaardt was adjudged POTM for an incredible innings of 169 runs off 143 balls, which she scored with the help of 20 boundaries and four sixes.

Ticket sales for the final are expected to commence later today, and organizers are anticipating high demand for this crucial match. While official ticket prices have not yet been confirmed, they are projected to be higher than the rates charged for the knock-outs. As a point of reference, tickets for the first semi-final in Guwahati were available starting from INR 100, whereas the second semi-final in Navi Mumbai had prices beginning at INR 150.
