After a largely inactive 2020 international season, the Indian National Cricket Team are set to face a grueling and hectic schedule in 2021. As per insider information from InsideSport, the Virat Kohli-led Indian team will be playing cricket around the world non-stop throughout 2021. They won’t have a single month off as they will also have the Indian Premier League in April and May.

According to the report, the Indian cricket team will play 14 Test Matches, 16 ODIs & 23 T20 internationals from January to December in 2021. This is beside Asia Cup T20 (June), ICC World Cup (October) and IPL 2021. The Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) is yet to officially release this schedule but as per the report BCCI is committed to honor all commitments of cancelled series, events in 2020.

Speaking about the tight schedule, “We understand it will be tough on the players but we are obligated to honor FTP commitments. We have a bigger pool of talent now and players. We will make sure players get ample rest before being called for India duties. Rotation policy will come into play

2021 will begin with England’s tour of India. The tour will go on for three months and will be followed by the IPL. India will then tour Sri Lanka after which the Asia Cup will take place. There will then be tours to Zimbabwe and England. South Africa will then visit India just before the T20 World Cup which also take place in India. New Zealand will then visit India in November and then India will travel to South Africa in December.
