Indian movie using UFC champ Tyron Woodley in troll-worthy fight scene goes viral: “Better win Academy award”
UFC fans abandon Tyron Woodley, now a GFL 2025 draft pick, after ‘painful’ 2016 Bollywood movie knockout going viral yet again.

Ex-UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is a decorated fighter despite the lack of popularity and getting knocked out by Jake Paul. But yet again, right now, he’s going viral as an actor; rather the ‘acting’ component for it. The GFL 2025 first draft pick has in fact, as of 2025, starred in 12 or so movies or television shows.
Tyron Woodley has not fought in MMA since his final UFC fight against Vicente Luque. But ‘T-Wood’ did go viral recently. He went Bollywood-ley in his third big acting role acting opposite Indian superstar Salman Khan in Sultan. Actors transitioning to Hollywood is no big new thing. However, actors transitioning to Bollywood for an audacious slow-motion MMA scene brought out a troll-worthy sequence.
In the clip, Tyron fights Indian MMA fighter, Sultan, portrayed by Salman Khan and goes for a kill shot with Sultan on the ground. The lead character rolls over and stands up. With the crowd roaring him on, Sultan lands a combo and then locks in a kimura as the MMA star’s character tries to evade.
The lead character uses the kimura to transition to a suplex, which he lands, and then… does a fireman’s carry, finally putting the former welterweight champion out! The clip went viral as soon as fans stumbled upon it on chatboards. Watch the sequence below:

At some point this year, Woodley (19-7-1) will return to MMA for the first time since 2021. That is if the fledgling GFL 2025 draft pick finally gets into a promotional tournament grind. But names are on the block for it but no date is yet official. “T-Wood” is on a four-fight losing streak in MMA (six if one included boxing). The film sequence has gone viral in the MMA community.
Fight fans react to Tyron Woodley’s Bollywood role going viral again
It’s never a near-good sight when top-tier MMA/UFC fighters and their skills do not translate to picturesque action motion sequences. Hollywood’s highest-paid debutante, Conor McGregor was part of the Road House action flick. McGregor’s film did attract some diss on the action sequences. However, it did not receive trolling from fans.

This wasn’t a case where MMA-esque hand-to-hand combat fell flat for the plot or had excess CGI usage. This was way too over the top with “T-Wood” facing a ridiculous slump on the screen! Here are a few top reactions:

I’ve seen enough give Sultan the title shot

Yep checks out. They live in their B-wood fantasies. The only UFC fighter from India got flat lined in 19 seconds by a prospect.
— AAZA (@Jashinaaza) February 17, 2025
That was painful to watch as a MMA enjoyer.

Additionally, a prominent reaction (@SpinninBackfist) quipped that “This better win an Academy Award.” Others have mocked that this kind of fantasy fight is why fighters like Anshul Jubli would get flatlined within seconds. All in all, the sequence left the MMA community in a jolly mood.
