Virat Kohli got vaccinated recently

Indian captain Virat Kohli got his first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine today and confirmed the same by sharing a picture on his Instagram stories. He further urged everybody to get vaccinated as soon as they can and to stay safe.

The Indian players have been getting their shots over the course of this week. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma had all shared that they had got their first shot. It is noteworthy that the Indian players have been advised to take only the Covishield vaccine due to the fact that they (the Test contingent) would be able to get their second shot only in the UK due to their cricketing commitments there.

The suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has thrown plans out of the window as far as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are concerned, but they are ensuring that everything is in place for the Test season that follows and with regard to safety from the pandemic by urging players to get vaccinated.
