Free Fire World Series is the next big Free Fire global tournament that will see teams from many country participating and aiming to be the very best. However, in a saddening post it has been reported that the Indian teams cannot participate in FFWS due to Corona Virus Pandemic.

Garena recently announced that the two Indian teams that qualified for Free Fire World Series (FFWC) 2021 Singapore, will not be able to take part in the event. This is due to the ongoing Corona virus Pandemic in India right now. Singapore government has announced that all long term pass holders and short-term visitors with travel history from India won’t be able to enter or pass through the country from April 24.

This news means that the Team Elite and Galaxy Racer, who were the two teams from the Indian subcontinent to have qualified, won’t be able to participate.

India is currently facing one of its most drastic and terrifying phase in the Corona virus Pandemic. This is the reason for the travel ban for Indian citizens and why Indian Teams cannot participate in FFWS, in fear of the spread of virus.

However, Garena has been quite generous to the Indian teams and their condition. They have decided to share the prize pool spoils of almost $2 million with the Indian teams to recognize their efforts for qualifying.

Although Garena has been fair, it is a sad new for the Indian Esports scene that they won’t be getting a chance to amaze viewers on a global stage. However, now might be the time for Garena to look at options for online tournaments. Getting a better platform for online play and setting anti-cheating regulations to make online play for Indian players better.
