Following his first title of the season, the Spaniard was on course for a second in Qatar. Surprisingly, he lost to Jiri Lehecka in the last eight despite having led in several moments of the match. The World No.3 made a fresh start in Indian Wells, where he’s yet to drop a set. He opened his account with Quentin Halys and Denis Shapovalov, beating them wasting no time.

He then defeated Grigor Dimitrov 6-1, 6-1 before beating the 25th seed Francisco Cerundolo 6-3, 7-6(4) in just one hour and 45 minutes to secure his place in the semifinals. It is his first outdoor hard court semifinals since the Beijing Open last year.

On the other hand, Jack Draper has been phenomenal since this season. He opened his campaign at the Australian Open, where he had to play five sets to earn his place in the fourth round. The British then succumbed to a defeat against Alcaraz which later saw him pull out from other tournaments due to injury.

He recovered well and featured in the Qatar Open, where he played his best tennis. The 23-year-old enjoyed his best run of the season, reaching the final of the ATP 500 tournament. He eventually failed to win the title, finishing as runners-up.

In Indian Wells, he continued in the same fashion, defeating Joao Fonseca and Jenson Brooksby. Without dropping a set, he then defeated World No.5 Taylor Fritz and American Ben Shelton.

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Jack Draper: Match Prediction

Carlos Alcaraz and Jack Draper will enter into the semifinal tie in their best form this season. However, the former has been by far the most in-form player between the two. The World No.3 has shown great improvements in all areas of his game, but majorly in dominating rallies and hitting drop shots.

He has also gotten used to the windy conditions of the desert and the slowness of the court, which has made his game effective. For Draper, his aggressive display has always been his biggest weapon. The British star is known for hitting well during long rallies and punishing his opponent by forcing them to their baseline.

It is surely going to be a tricky encounter between Alcaraz and Draper. However, Alcaraz and Draper have met four times in their careers, with the former lead 3-1 in their head-to-head record. The only time Draper defeated the Spaniard was at the Queen’s Club Championship last year.

Match Prediction: Carlos Alcaraz to win in three sets.
