When billionaire Steve Ballmer purchased the Los Angeles Clippers in 2014, his goal was to turn the fortunes of a franchise often ridiculed as one of the worst teams in the league. But that process takes time, patient decisions, and investments.

The time part has been taken care of, as Ballmer purchased the Clippers after leaving the post of Microsoft’s CEO. He wanted to give most of his time to the team as they needed a leader who could steer them around.

Then the patient decisions saw the 69-year-old first stick with Doc Rivers through seven seasons and then hire Ty Lue to replace him. Recently, he reiterated his faith in the NBA championship-winning coach by handing him an extension.

The investment part has been his biggest contribution so far. Ballmer orchestrated the Clippers’ push to bring in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The concept of superstar-laden teams pushing to win their first-ever NBA title was a move that would draw a lot of new fans to the team.

That is when his next plan was set in motion, an arena of their own. After 25 years playing in Crypto.com Arena and being known as the lowly noisy neighbors, the Clippers had their own $2 billion arena named Intuit Dome.

The new arena was built to house the team as well as to bring in revenue from various sources such as tickets, merchandise sales, restaurants and hospitality, events, etc. Some of those experiences can make a big hole in the wallet.

A standard courtside ticket might cost $2000. But if fans want the full courtside cabana suite experience, they will have to fork out $50,000 per game or $2 million for the full season. Recently, a social media influencer shared what one can get by spending that much.

$2 million worth of basketball luxury

The Los Angeles Clippers might have been booted out of the playoffs after performing well in the first few games. But Steve Ballmer‘s idea is that fans spending $50,000 per game or $2 million per season not only get the best seat in the house, but are also bathing in the best that they can offer.

Social media influencer Jack’s Dining Room shared what the Courtside Cabana Suite entails. He starts off by revealing that ticket holders can enter through the private access usually reserved for players. Then they head down under the court to the suite, which happens to be the first of its kind in the NBA.

Multiple chef stations serve the best sushi, wagyu steaks, and custom desserts. Other than those custom chef stations that stir up a fresh batch for each ticket holder, the suite is stacked with charcuterie boards. Ticket holders also get a personal waiter who brings food and drink to their seats.

They also get access to the Lexus Lounge, where there are even more curated chef stations on offer. Jack’s Dining Room confirmed that a cabana suite ticket holder can bring up to 11 people and enjoy those delectables while watching the game up close.

Steve Ballmer has developed Intuit Dome into a grand theatre

The creation of Intuit Dome means artists and event management companies have another option in Los Angeles. But primarily, the arena caters to the Los Angeles Clippers. When Steve Ballmer commissioned the arena, he wanted it to set the new standard when it came to the fan experience.

Be it basketball games or other events, the massive double-sided halo board throws up all kinds of information. This enables fans to get updates wherever they are seated. The lighting and sound are also state of the art, which makes the Intuit Dome a spectacular arena to play in.

To aid the Los Angeles Clippers, Ballmer ensured a Borussia Dortmund-style The Wall was in place. Those seats do not interfere with the suites that attract the $50,000 per game price. Instead, The Wall is where the franchise’s most ardent fans line up to try and mess with the minds of opposing players.

Sometimes it works, other times it does not. But the mere experience of all this has made Intuit Dome one of the most advanced arenas in all of sports. Steve Ballmer has built the best home for the Los Angeles Clippers. Now if only the team can work their way past the initial rounds of the playoffs, then the arena can have a real championship banner to hang.
