Inter Milan contact Gini Wijnaldum entourage for a potential free transfer to the Blanconeri next season
Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum is out of contract this season and has not yet agreed to a new contract with Liverpool. Contract negotiations between the Dutchman and Liverpool seem to have broken down- with the last contract offer coming from Liverpool in December. He is free to sign a pre-contract with any European club for next season.
FC Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and Inter Milan will have to compete for his signature
3 different clubs from 3 different leagues are reportedly vying for his signature as Wijnaldum has proven to be a resilient player. So far in Liverpool this season, the whole squad barring Gini Wijnaldum and Andrew Robertson have all been injured or laid low with COVID-19. This goes to show his strength and endurance and that could be a potential attraction for all clubs.
Inter Milan have made initial contact with Gini Wijnaldum’s representatives for a potential free transfer at the end of this season. Any move to Inter Milan will need a kind contract offer for him as that is what is keeping Liverpool from giving him new wages. His demands of having improved wages similar to what top earners Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk were earning and refusing to buck from that has seen him not get a new contract from Liverpool.
The Dutchman is a really good midfielder when he is allowed to advance forward as he scored 8 goals in 9 matches for Netherlands once. At Liverpool he has been tasked with being an enforcer and injuries to key players has seen him drop even deeper. At other clubs, this situation could be solved and he could be allowed to play his natural role. It will be interesting to see which club offers him his requested wages in this pandemic era.
