The wait is almost over as LeBron James and Bronny are set to make NBA history in the 2024–25 season as the first father-son duo to play simultaneously in the league. Bronny, who is entering his rookie year, joins his father on the Los Angeles Lakers, which is a very significant moment as not only are they playing in the same league, but they will be teammates on the same team. 

A nostalgic moment occurred during the Lakers’ media day as fans got their first look at the James’ in their Lakers uniforms. LeBron James wore his familiar number 23, while Bronny James sported the number 9.

The image of father and son standing together, shared all over social media marked a historic moment that basketball fans will remember for years to come.

More history will be made as this will be LeBron James’s 22nd season in the NBA where he will turn 40 in December. He has long expressed his desire to play alongside his oldest son in the league. That dream has now become a reality, and King James gets to finally share the court with Bronny, fulfilling a career goal that he has spoken about for years.
