Friday night gave the NBA world one of the best games of the season as Victor Wembanyama‘s Spurs took on the Golden State Warriors in the Emirates NBA cup. It was their second meeting in three days as the Warriors grabbed a close 109-108 win against the Spurs and improve their record to 8-6 while the Spurs dropped to 8-4 for the season.
Warriors defender, Draymond Green has built a reputation for his on-court antics and Friday night was no different. The 14-year league veteran got into it with Wembanyama during an inbounds play in the fourth quarter. Green tried to get into the center’s head by playing some physical defense.

But Wembanyama answered the call in some style as he posterized Green with a dunk. Following the dunk which did not count in the end, Wembanyama taunted the former Defensive Player of the Year and the two exchanged some words. No technical fouls were given as the two were separated before things escalated.
Green did get the final laugh in the end as the dunk was waved off and the Warriors edged out the Spurs in a narrow win. The two will lock horns again in February and it will be interesting to see if it reignites the tension between the two defensive powerhouses.
Spurs fans got into the act on the internet following the Draymond Green-Victor Wembanyama incident
After the face-off, Spurs fans had their say on the internet and shared their amusement, seeing a 6’7” Green confronting a 7’4” Wembanyama.
But their delight was short-lived as the basket did not count and the points were not counted but that did not stop them from sharing their views about the incident. It was not the only match-up during the game as the Frenchman bullied Green on a couple of post-ups in the third quarter. Here are some of the reactions:

Wembanyama is fearless. He let Draymond Green do all his shenanigans and still made him look stupid

Stephen Curry puts on a show again
Stephen Curry has put on a show in back-to-back games against the Spurs over the last three days. Following up on a 46-point performance on Wednesday, Curry went on to score 49 points on Friday propelling the Warriors to another win against the Spurs this season.

The point-guard missed three games due to an illness and struggled heavily against the defending champions, Oklahoma City, in a game that saw him receive his first ever flagrant foul. But Curry has bounced back since then with consecutive 40-point games.
The 37-year-old has shown no signs of ageing as he currently averages 29.1 points per game. It was Curry who shot the game-winning free-throws in the waning seconds to give the Warriors a one point lead, which they held onto in the end when De’Aaron Fox missed the final shot at the buzzer.
