Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James called out Cleveland Browns fans for booing Deshaun Watson after he picked up a season-ending injury.
Cleveland Browns fans face the ire of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James after they booed Deshaun Watson after suffering injury
The Cleveland Browns did not envision their season going from bad to worse just seven weeks into the NFL season. Already facing the daunting task of winning against the Cincinnati Bengals, their worst fears came alive when starting quarterback Deshaun Watson went down with a likely season-ending injury.
However, the reaction that ensued from the Cleveland crowd came to the attention of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. The four-time NBA champion was not particularly happy with the fans of his hometown team booing the QB.
James was irked as Watson was carted off the field knowing his season was possibly done. He took to social media to express his disappointment, while also praising the fans who did not boo the 29-year-old.
Cleveland Fans! Yall know how much we’ve been thru throughout the years both good, bad and indifferent. With that being said booing anyone that’s down with an injury let alone your own player is LAME AF!! To the ones who didn’t ?

James’ message has since been viewed more than two million times, and a lot of the replies came from fans who pointed out the quarterback’s history of s**ual (SA) assault as well as his horrible performances in a Browns jersey so far. Fans questioned why James would support a player who has not lived up to being a model athlete.
However, James had a reason for voicing his views, as fans turning their back on players generally does not work out well for both parties. James believes if the player sees that his own fans are turning their back on him, any whiff of confidence he might have drawn, would go out of the window.
LeBron James has kept tabs on NFL season even though 22nd BA season approaches
LeBron James is admittedly a hardcore football fan. Not only has he played the sport, but he also makes it a point to catch the games. Throughout the preseason, he has diligently followed NFL games while gearing up for his 22nd season in the NBA.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar turns to football to take his mind off basketball. The player with possibly the highest IQ of the game, knows all too well that constantly talking about his work does not always bring better results.
Rather, watching or even playing Madden competitively can help his mind stay focused when he takes to the court. It is unknown how much he will delve into football once the regular NBA season starts.
What is for sure is that he keeps tabs on everything happening in football. That explains how the Ohio native could understand what Browns fans felt after Deshaun Watson went down, even if their reaction was not ideal.
