Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bounced back to form with a clinical win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League. In today’s match played in Dubai, RCB won the toss and chose to bat first.
RCB who were wearing green as a part of their ‘Go Green’ initiative got off to a brisk start but lost openers Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal within the 7th over. Seasoned campaigners Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers rebuilt the innings patiently hitting singles and twos. However, when they tried to accelerate, the duo lost their wickets meaning RCB could only score 145 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Sam Curran was the pick of the bowlers for CSK with 3 wickets.
In the chase, CSK came out all guns blazing as Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad took on the RCB bowlers. However, the former lost his wicket in the Powerplay after which Ambati Rayudu joined the latter. The duo pummeled the RCB bowlers to take CSK closer to the target. Gaikwad remained unbeaten along with MS Dhoni as CSK strolled home.
