IPL 2020 Mumbai Indians: Shane Bond terms Bumrah “Best T20 bowler in the world”
On Thursday, Mumbai Indians (MI) thrashed Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Qualifier 1 to secure a spot in the IPL 2020 final.
MI bowling coach Shane Bond is all praises for the purple cap holder, Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah put up a brilliant show on Thursday picking up 4 wickets and only conceding 14 runs in his four overs.
“Jasprit, it’s a privilege to watch. The best T20 fast bowler in the world go about his work,” Bond said in a video posted by MI on Twitter.
Bond also talked about Boult, who produced an incredible performance against DC. He took two important wickets (Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane) without conceding a single run.
“I’ve loved working with Trent since 2012. We’ve seen him at his very best and I was very excited to have him in our team. Because I know what a devastating bowler he can be and he has done that through this tournament for us,” Bond said.
Along with Shaw and Rahane, even Shikhar Dhawan got out for a duck. Due to early wickets of key players, DC got off to a poor start in their chase.
IPL 2020 Mumbai Indians: “We are an intimidating batting line-up,” says Shane Bond
It was not only the bowlers who received appreciation from Bond.
He was equally impressed by the batting side as well. Despite key batsmen like Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard returning to the pavilion on a duck, MI managed to put 200 runs on the scoreboard in 20 overs.
“We are an intimidating batting line-up. You sit in the shed and it is just relentless. At 100/4, you felt that turn in the momentum. Delhi fought really hard through the middle of the innings and got themselves well back into the game. If they’d had a little bit more luck or perhaps been a little bit more accurate, we would have been under pressure at the back end,” he said.
