IPL 2020: ‘Virat Kohli gives bowlers freedom and confidence’ – Yuzvendra Chahal
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have got off to a decent start in the Indian Premier League 2020. They have two wins out of three and are now in 5th place in the points table. An important reason for RCB’s good showings this year is Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal has been pivotal to RCB’s bowling attack emerging as their lead bowler.
He has picked up 5 wickets from 3 matches so far taking his tally to 105 wickets in the tournament’s history. Speaking to media ahead of RCB’s match on Saturday against Rajasthan Royals, the wily leggie heaped praise on captain Virat Kohli.
Virat is always full of confidence – Chahal
The 30-year-old Chahal said, “It’s been like 6 years now. Virat bhaiya has always been full of confidence. He always says you’re the captain of your bowling whatever field you want, just go with that and if it’s not working then we will go for plan B.“
“As a bowler or a youngster, he gives you more confidence. Whether it’s Indian team or RCB, everyone has the liberty to set their own field.” he added.
At present Chahal is the leading wicket-taker for RCB. His economy rate of 7.58 and strike rate of 14.4 are commendable. In RCB’s opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chahal emerged as the Man of the Mach after a three-wicket haul. In his next two matches too, the leggie has been among the wickets.
RCB face Rajasthan Royals next at Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
